Winning design for the 2022 Cincinnati Coffee Festival poster contest.

Original Design

Pictured first is the first iteration of the poster entered into the contest.
Two logos and a QR code were required, although not present here.

I chose to represent the city itself and the iconic suspension bridge, almost as if one is enjoying their morning coffee and gazing on the beautiful skyline. Bright oranges recall the warm feeling of a sunrise and coffee (and even the Bengals). Various shades of blue, orange’s complement, represent clean water. The Ohio River Foundation, which strives to ensure that our state’s rivers stay clean, is benefited by festival proceeds every year. I felt it necessary to include both important aspects of this wonderful festival while creating a bold design that jumped out at passersby.

Finalized Design

After multiple revisions by the panel of judges, the poster pictured second, was finally deemed ready for print. Shadows were simplified while additional buildings were created with more detail.

I was also asked to design a T-Shirt to be sold at the festival, replacing the old design that had been used for five years. The client chose the design pictured out of four others given to them.
